It was a stunning success worldwide among watch and cocktail lovers alike. In fact, the collection was inspired by cocktails created by Hisashi Kishi, the head bartender at the STAR BAR in Tokyo’s Ginza area and a past winner of the International Bar Association World Championships. Tokyo’s Ginza area is home to both the Star Bar and Seiko headquarters, making a perfect mix. Style: The model is so called the ‘Blue Moon’ as the colour of the watch resembles that of a Blue Moon cocktail. The cocktail is a fun, frozen martini featuring blue curaçao, vanilla syrup, and fresh orange juice. Whipping creams adds a hint of creamy texture to the drink. The cocktail is a speciality in Japan, including one of Japan’s most famous bars, The Star Bar. The dial features the ever present Seiko logo with an open heart window at 9 o’clock allowing you to see the intricate inner workings of the timepiece. Then, a silver stainless steel case surrounds the dial to provide it with the class it deserves. Finally, a blue leather strap can be fastened using a standard buckle. Functions: This piece is powered by an automatic 4R38 movement. This caliber features a manual wind feature with an approximate duration of 41 hours. Also, the movement compromises of 24 jewels which improves the accuracy as the friction and wear is reduced. The hardlex crystal glass comes in a box shaped which has the great benefit of allowing to lower the bezel, which makes the watch frame much slimmer.
