Maurice Lacroix Eliros Quartz Blue Dial Leather Strap Ladies Watch EL1118-PVP01-411-1 RRP £595 Style: This Maurice LaCroix Eliros EL1118-PVP01-411-1 balances a simple and well executed design with a slight retro touch. A blue sun-brushed dial takes centre stage for this piece whilst being complemented by rose gold indexes and hands. The sun-brushed effect is created by the sunlight bouncing off the face to provide a shimmering effect. At each three hour interval starting from 12 o’clock are Roman numeral indexes which brings out the retro side to the watch. Additionally, the ever present Maurice LaCroix logo can be seen underneath the 12 o’clock position alongside an easy to read date window at three. The Maurice LaCroix logo is coated in rose gold to match the colour wheel chosen for this timepiece. Then, a thin chapter ring consists of black second indexes as well as the origin of the watch, ‘SWISS MADE’. Surrounding the dial is a glorious rose gold PVD steel case which provides the dial with both protection and class. On the flip-side is a solid case back which again features the Maurice LaCroix logo directly in the centre. Additionally, the crown also display the ‘M’ logo which is a common design feature across all LaCroix watches. Then, a dark blue leather strap can be fastened using a pin buckle. The strap features two lines of stitching as well as a stylish ‘M’ mounted onto the lower half of the strap. This strap is also interchangeable with other Maurice LaCroix straps through an easy exchange feature, allowing you to mix up your style each day. This watch has a water resistance of 50 metres, making it suitable for surface swimming. History: Having only been founded in 1975 as part of Desco von Schulthess of Zurich, Maurice LaCroix Watches have enjoyed a rapid ascension to become the pinnacle of Swiss watchmaking. The company’s roots date back to 1889, as it was involved in the silk trade. Prior to the birth of Maurice LaCroix, in 1975, the company had been producing watch components for other vendors. However, due to the increasing popularity of Maurice they had to stop producing components for other companies. The launch of their high-end collection Les Mécaniques in 1990 marked Maurice LaCroix’s expansion. For instance, it now boasts partnerships with FC Barcelona, Red Bull Cliff Diving and Justin Rose. They have also picked up scores of awards and patents in the process. Notably, they have enjoyed great success at the RedDot Ceremony over the years. For example, they have received the prestigious Red Dot Design Award for several years running, 2019 proved no exception for Maurice LaCroix, with the jury members being won over by the new AIKON Automatic Skeleton. This reward underscores Maurice LaCroix’s commitment to always producing watches inspired by their distinguished innovation, precision and craftsmanship. Each Maurice LaCroix timepiece is an expert blend of tradition, creative development and cutting-edge technology. Manifesting the maison’s ‘tradition for creating open worked watches, imbued with visual lightness and torsional strength.’ Meaning that every watch that leaves their state-of-the-art workshop in Mount Falcon is perfect in form as well as function.
