Casio Baby-G Quartz Pink Analogue/Digital Hybrid Resin Strap Ladies Watch BA-130-4AER RRP £119 History: The Casio Baby-G collection is inspired by the original G-Shock collection but aimed towards the ladies and girls. The watches still have the same toughness as a G-Shock but use more feminine colours. Each timepiece in the collection will handle anything you can throw at it. Immediately popular with the youth of the time, the current revival of 90’s culture and fashion means that the Baby-G is as popular as ever, offering an unparalleled level of functionality and style for creative individuals worldwide. Style: The style for this watch is a completely baby pink look whilst being complimented by a metallic rose gold design for the dial. The dial itself has a hybrid display of both digital and analogue which is designed to suit the needs of both. The dial features an ‘X’ design which is split into four sections. The top section features the ever present Casio logo as well as the recommended water resistancy of 10BAR. On the left hand side is a digital display which can be used to display the date or the world time. On the right hand side is another digital display which shows the day of the week, alarm or stopwatch function. Finally, the dial at the 6 o’clock position is a subdial for the seconds. Then a thick pink resin case sits around the dial to provide it with the protection worth of the shock resistant name. Finally, a pink resin strap can be fastened with a standard buckle. Functions: As mentioned the watch features a world time function which displays the current time in major cities and specific areas around the world. The stopwatch function has a capacity of 24 hours. It has three different modes for elapsed time, split time and 1st-2nd place times whilst being measured up to 1/100th of a second. The alarm function has the capacity of 5 daily alarms. Each will sound every day at the time you set whilst coming with a snooze feature for those who need a little more beauty sleep. This watch has a water resistance of 100 metres, making it suitable for swimming and snorkelling. Each timepiece in the collection will handle anything you can throw at it. They are all 10 metre drop resistant, vibration resistant, hammer shock resistant and low temperature resistant, as well as being water resistant to 10ATM. The Brand: Casio Casio was established in 1946 by Japanese engineer Tadao Kashio. The company entered the timepiece market in 1974 with the release of the Casiotron, the world’s first Auto Calendar watch. Only eleven years after entering this field, Casio completely reshaped global thought about the function a watch should perform with the release of the pioneering and now legendary G-Shock family. Innovation and world firsts have defined the company’s history ever since, the most striking of these being the release of the first ever touch screen watch in 1991, 24 years before the Apple Watch, and the first ever wrist camera watch in 2000. In short, Casio was producing smartwatches decades before the term had even been coined. Add to this the hipster popularity of the company’s retro designs, and Casio has firmly cemented its reputation as a famously reliable and precise name in both analogue and digital watches.
